Murfie Music
Social Media Intern
I started my professional digital media journey in May 2018 with a small company called “Murfie.”
I worked closely with the C.E.O. Rex Mangat to identify the target audience and was off to the races generating content geared toward them. I made sure to touch on our unique position of offering high-fidelity streaming of their music collections from anywhere in the world. Sometimes I would even highlight the possibility for people to buy, sell, and trade pieces of their collection through the Murfie Store.
I kept organized notes on our metrics as social media platforms were still in their infancy at this time when it came to ease-of-use for creators. I used this information to guide future content and provide a great atmosphere for music aficionados to discuss their favorite albums and artists.
I also worked with other employees to manage our communications efficiently and ensure customer satisfaction.
The internship finished in November 2018, but I returned the following summer in the same capacity and continued to drive the company forward in a positive direction.
Through both internship opportunities I also worked to identify and solve problems the organization faced as a small startup. I was able to identify the need for significant video content for our customers in terms of explaining how the service worked. I generated sample videos for leadership, but due to constraints, we were unable to proceed forward with the content.

Using Canva, a tool I continue to utilize, I produced a significant amount of posts explaining the allure of Murfie. I synergized with local music events and other music organizations to drive conversations and interactions on our social media channels. I worked closely with Rex to generate campaigns with clever ideas such as “#LosslessMore” where we focused on the importance of lossless music and Murfie’s positioning in the market. We also came up with “#SpinSunday” where we discussed the music we were listening to and conversed with those on our pages as to what they had been listening to.
